The World's Highest-Paid TV Actors: Jim Parsons Leads With $27.5 Million

The numbers are in, and if an actor’s character doesn't have a friend named Sheldon or a relative named Pritchett (or if he isn’t named Sheldon or Pritchett), chances are he didn't make this year's list of top-paid TV actors.

Jim Parsons, the star of 'The Big Bang Theory', tops the list for the third year in a row.

The stars of The Big Bang

Theory and Modern

Family dominate our list, with Big Bang's Jim Parsons nabbing the top spot thanks to $27.5 million earned in the year to June 1.

“When I read Big Bang it was definitely special to me. I would definitely not presume to say I thought it was going to be a hit show or be picked up, but I know that I was being presented with a character that was, in its own weird way, a really good fit, that I thought I could do,"Parsons told Variety.

As a member of the top-paid cast on television, and the top-rated show, Parsons makes $1 million per episode, as do fellow listees Johnny Galecki (No. 2, $26.5 million), Simon Helberg (No. 3, $26 million) and Kunal Nayyar (No. 4, $25 million). That means each earns $24 million per season from the show--plus a chunk of backend. Their salaries will decrease next year, as they, along with castmate Kaley Cuoco, each took a $100,000-per-episode pay cut for the upcoming season to give co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch higher salaries.

Ghanians urged to stop blaming curses for failure in life – psychologist

Renowned Ghanaian – UK psychologist, Dr. Ann Gaisey have advised Ghanaians to stop blaming curses for their failures in life.
Speaking to Nana Effei, host of a fast rising show dubbed “M’asem Nie” which literally means this is my story on No.1fm, about why so many Ghanaians are still lagging behind in life, Dr. Gaisey passionately called on Ghanaians to abandon the ancient excuse of blaming every failure of theirs on curses.
Responding to a gentleman (name withheld) who shared his ordeal on the program about how poverty has been his portion in life ever since his mother dragged her buttocks on the bare floor and invoked curses on him about 13yrs ago, simply because he accidentally pushed her to the ground when he was preventing his mother from seeing another man.
Dr. Gaisey stated that life is full of challenges and is up to us to have a positive attitude and turn things around instead of dwelling so much on utterances made against us because success starts from the brain so once you focus about some curses made against you in the past, you become stuck in failure.
She said Ghana as a country need serious psychological interventions and boosters because we have the antidote to most of our problems yet we will rather sit down and shed blames on ancestral, family curses, poor back ground and many more.
She bemoaned how some pastors have capitalized on this and are therefore extorting huge sums of money from their members.
Head pastor for Jesus Apostolic Church Incorporated, Rev Kingsley Osafo Mireku also advised parent to be very conscious about some utterances they make towards their children because it might have some spiritual implications in the nearest future.
Meanwhile “M’asem Nie” airs on every Saturday on No.1fm – 105.3 from 4pm – 5pm.

Some people think I smoke because I hang out with R2Bees – Efya

Most Celebrities around the world are addicted to one thing or the other. If not drug,  Alcohol,  then chronic womanizing on the part of the guys. The same story can be told in Ghana. Although, in the outside world, celebrities don’t debunk rumors pertaining to their addictions but the story is different in Ghana even if they’re caught red-handed.

Efya, award winning vocalist, has reacted to public perception about her addiction to smoking weed. However, Efya in a an interview with Delay revealed that people thought that way because she hanged around R2Bees who made their smoking activities public. “I think it is the boys” She told Delay.

“Paedae, R2bees — they put it out there when they’re smoking and because of my affiliation with them and everything. But I don’t think that should be a point. I don’t think just because I hang around with people that smoke you should think that I smoke too”

Kennedy Agyapong leaks names of NDC gurus to face prosecution

Outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated unequivocally that five persons under the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration will soon face criminal and civil prosecutions for their alleged involvement in shady deals.

He hints that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in collaboration with state Prosecutors have finalized work on their dockets and will soon head to court in the second hurdle of the legal battle.

Some members of the past administration have been accused of engaging in some underhand dealings that led to colossal financial loss to the state and must answer for their actions and inactions.

Speaking on his Net 2 TV’s morning show “National Agenda” on Wednesday, the Assin Central lawmaker specifically mentioned former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni as one of those to be prosecuted.

“I am aware the CID have concluded their investigations and are ready with dockets that will be forwarded to the court for the prosecution to begin. I know for a fact that Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni is one of the five past officials”, he hinted.

Though he will not reveal the identities of the rest, he indicated that they cannot escape the long arm of the law for using their former offices to cause debts for the country in the pursuit of parochial interests.

“I can state categorically that some documents for the prosecution of some corrupts NDC officials are ready. I know of Opuni’s own and some five others. I know all these documents are ready and are in the custody of the CID and I can assure you that they will not go scot free” he said.

According to him, there is nowhere the former CEO of COCOBOD can escape jail taking into account the kind of deals he is alleged to have done while in office.

“I can state categorically that some documents for the prosecution of some corrupts NDC officials are ready. I know of Opuni’s own and some five others.

I know all these documents are ready and are in the custody of the CID and I can assure you that they will not go scot free” he said.
