Ucoms Tescon President Elect Hon. Justin Nkrumah gives report on the just ended Extraordinary Delegates Congress
*REPORT FROM THE EXTRAORDINARY NATIONAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE*
The extraordinary national delegates conference was held on 17th December 2017, the conference was attended by the President of Ghana H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, The Vice President of Ghana H. E Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Members of Parliaments, National executives of NPP, Regional executives of NPP, Constituency executives, TESCON Representatives (TESCON Presidents and other executives) and party members.
Delegates arrived at the conference grounds on 16th December 2017 in preparation towards the extraordinary national delegates conference and were hosted at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in preparation towards the extraordinary national delegates conference.
The conference kick started on 17th December 2017 at 10am at the Baba Yara Sports stadium (Kumasi Sports Stadium), delegates were welcomed at the conference by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP, Hon. Bernard Antwi Boasiako A.K.A Chairman Wontumi. Delegates were addressed by the President, the party executives and other top members of the elephant party. The Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP Hon. Bernard Antwi Boasiako A.K.A Chairman Wontumi in his welcoming address speech told delegates at the conference of plans to build *ultra modern NPP conference hall* to be built in Kumasi, he also edged party members to register their membership at their various polling stations.
The Acting General Secretary of NPP Hon. John Boadu also addressed delegates and in his address he told party members of *plans to build NPP training institute to groom party members.* H. E Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo the President of the Republic of Ghana also addressed delegates and in his address he told members of *foundations for jobs being laid for future job employment* and he also advised delegates and party members not to be complacent and also not to abuse the power won by the party. He advised the party party to learn from past experience which lead to the defeat of the party in 2008 and also how the NDC lost in the 2016 elections and to make sure such mistakes are being avoided. Delegates were addressed by other top party members as well.
Before the conference started a meeting was held between the Acting Natioanal Chairman of NPP Hon. Freddy Blay and all TESCON Presidents, he edged them to be very active in the party's preparation towards the extraordinary national delegates conference and the party affairs in general. And after the conference the Natioanal Youth Organizer of NPP held a meeting with all TESCON President to discuss issues affecting TESCON and other students affairs. Some of the key issues discussed are;
1. Treatment of TESCON members on National Service placement/Posting.
2. Selection of SRC candidates running on the ticket of TESCON.
3. Allowance of the Agricultural Students.
4. Placement of nursing trainees during NSS posting.
The conference in my view as the TESCON President was successful and a great experience for myself, I thank all TESCON members of University College Of Management Studies in Accra and I edge them to rally behind the executives led by Justin Nkrumah for more things to be achieved our chapter.
